Mother’s Day

This Mother’s Day, we acknowledge the profound loss that many children feel when they have lost their mothers due to domestic abuse.

We see you, we hear you, and we stand with you in your grief; together, we are stronger.

Dear Mom,
As I sit down to write this, I am flooded with memories of you and the profound influence you have had on my life. Even though you were taken from us too soon, your strength and love continue to shape me every day.
Your unwavering kindness and the way you cared for everyone around you left a lasting impression on me. I remember the warmth of your smile and the sound of your laughter, and these memories give me strength in difficult times. You taught me compassion and resilience, lessons that I carry with me as I navigate my own life.
Your absence since has been a constant presence since I was ten years old, but it motivates me to honour your memory by being the kind of person you would be proud of. Thank you for the love you gave and the values you instilled in me. I miss you deeply, but your spirit remains with me always.
With all my love,
Diane
In memory of Pauline Benton, whose life was taken in 1978 when she was 33 years old.
